Upcoming Game Updates
Hello! I just wanted to thank everyone for playing and leaving feedback. This is so helpful to us, as this is our first game to get any traction in Early Access.
I am quickly learning the lesson of how blind I get to the game after staring at it for too many hours every day. The feedback and criticism have been enormously helpful in seeing things with fresh eyes.
PRESENT: We're developing a plan to roll out some updates. These will be sooooon, like...hopefully the next day or two.
- Fullscreen! Our engineer is working hard on this. Unity is not cooperating with the web build, but we're working on it. It works great in the downloadable version, though.
- Running in the background. No more game pause when you look at something else on your desktop. I think we all hated this, but forgot that it was a thing. Anyways, that should be fixed in the next update.
- UI tweaks to the sidebar so that it's easier to understand what things are. This is minor polish, with some better labeling and UX.
- Removing some upgrades -- these will be used later as global upgrades! Don't worry, they'll be back. (GoldCoin-related upgrades at later levels.)
I'll give a full change list when we've done our update.
NEAR FUTURE: Regarding the future, and all that feedback on progression: THANK YOU! You're right that the reset-with-every-stage is too punishing and grindy. I've developed another core loop, ran it by the team, and we think this will work without breaking the game at all. It will take us a little bit to get that up and running and balanced, but I hope to have this version up soon (a week or two? optimistic but we've done crazier things.)
FUTURE FUTURE: Prestige system has been on the backburner for a while. Global upgrades that would come with that. An after-game so that you can keep earning and playing and getting rewarded for your time and investment. Eventually we will be bringing this game to Steam and iOS.
